We’re Ready for a Change: Preparing for New Technology

Thursday, February 13, 2025 | 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM Eastern
Duration: 30 minutes

Overview

Adopting new technology, particularly new software, can often present unforeseen challenges in the form of properly aligning the end-product to your actual business requirements, having the project timeline run astray, or failing to appropriately test the system prior to release. A poorly planned or executed technology project can also create employee stress, dissatisfaction, and even anger.  In this webinar, the presenter will briefly reflect on the transformational leadership practices shared throughout this Lessons in Leadership series that can prepare teams to better handle technological onboarding and other changes. Additionally, attendees will learn about the biggest mistakes they can avoid that are sometimes made in project management for IT products.

This session will help laboratory leaders understand the importance of the following:

  • Defining their business requirements for the software/hardware thoroughly and early.
  • Assigning a competent leader to the product development team representing the laboratory.
  • Sufficiently testing the product to ensure it meets all requirements prior to release.

The webinar will close with a 10,000-foot view of modern Agile Product Management practices that are used to efficiently and accurately onboard new technologies.
