Overview
The Idaho State Police Forensic Services agency has designed a sexual assault kit evidence tracking system to effectively track sexual assault kits and provide a mechanism for victim notification associated with testing status. The system is in alignment with Idaho state legislation and national recommendations, including Idaho Code Chapter 29, Title 67, Section 67-2919 and recommendation #3 of the National Institute of Justice’s National Best Practices for Sexual Assault Kits: A Multidisciplinary Approach. This sexual assault kit evidence tracking system is a program designed to track all sexual assault kits collected in Idaho and provides a mechanism for victim notification of sexual assault kit status.
During this webinar, representatives from the Idaho State Police Forensic Services will review the system’s features, advantages, and discuss considerations for implementing a sexual assault kit evidence tracking system.
